Aftermarket Suspension and Parts Installation Technician
SUMMARY
As an Aftermarket Suspension and Parts Installation Technician, you will play a seminal, frontline role in building trucks which exceed customers’ expectations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install performance suspension systems and/or suspension and steering components following
manufacturer’s recommended procedures and specifications. - Install aftermarket accessories (wheels, tires, bumpers, lights, airbag systems, onboard air compressors,
trophy hitches, exhaust systems, performance upgrades, bed covers, and more.) - Mount and balance wheels and tires using our Hunter Maverick tire changer and Hunter HD Elite Balancer.
- Tune nitrogen shocks and steering stabilizers using our Power Tank system.
- Perform precision alignments using our Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment machine.
- Reset factory sensors with ADAS Link full diagnostic scan tool.
- Reprogram ECU settings using FORScan.
- Perform brake bleeding procedures.
- Perform quality control assessments of all completed builds.
- Complete an approx. 2-hour online training course on Carli Suspension systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of straight axle and IFS suspension systems, components, and upgrades (prior experience installing Carli Suspension systems is preferred.)
- Display proficiency in installation of steering components such as track bars, ball joints, steering stabilizers, etc.
- Display proficiency in general installation of truck accessories.
- Display proficiency in mounting and balancing tires and wheels.
- Display proficiency in alignment using Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment machine (candidates who do not already possess a certificate from Hunter will be required to attend a 3-day training course at Hunter
University DFW.) - Display proficiency with programming / calibration tools such as ADAS Link, Autel (TPMS), FORScan, OBDLink MX+.
- Must possess basic computer skills and be able to navigate a Windows computer system / operate a Windows laptop / browse the web using Google Chrome on an Apple iMac.
- Proficiency in basic MIG welding is highly preferred (we use a Miller Millermatic PRO 211 MIG welder.)
- Must own your own set of tools (shop is fully outfitted, but Aftermarket Suspension and Parts Installation Technicians are required to possess their own basic set of tools.)
- Must be able to read and comprehend detailed instructions.
- Must be able to follow a wiring diagram.
- Must be able to follow a checklist.
- Must be willing and able to follow a prescribed process and do things The SAS Way. Never settle for shortcuts.
- Must be committed to excellence at all times.
- Must take pride in your work and understand that the company will be judged by the quality of your workmanship.
- Must be in good physical condition and capable of lifting 50 lbs. without assistance (100 lbs. with assistance.)
- Can operate a walkie stacker.
- Must maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Must always interact with teammates, vendor reps, and customers in a professional manner.
- Must possess a reliable mode of transportation and be able to show up on time.
- Must be willing and able to perform duties not formally listed in the above job description, from time to time, in accordance with the organization’s needs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with no major violations. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.
- Must consent to drug testing if requested.
